Integrated Technology Corporation has completed a head to head trial against the competitor�s analyzer and come out the clear winner.

A probe card with 536 probes (including 176 bus probes) was tested on the Probilt PB3500 and the PRVX2. The same test conditions were used and the machines were side-by-side in the customer�s clean room. All tests were setup and controlled by the customer. Test times for each machine were recorded for Alignment, Planarity, Leakage, and Wire Check.

The results clearly show the superior throughput of the Probilt PB3500. All tests were faster on the PB3500 with Wire Check showing the most dramatic advantage at 6.6 times as fast as the PRVX2!

The increased throughput available with the PB3500 is especially critical for very high pin count cards. Because of the distributed processing approach used by the PB3500, test times per probe do not increase significantly at high pin counts.

The actual test times and a comparison chart are shown below. Data for Gram Force could not be generated on the PRVX2. User Test 1 times include Alignment, Planarity, Leakage and User Test 2 also includes Wire Check.

A similar chart is shown below for an 800 pin card. Both cards were Advantest T5335 types and are typical of multiple die memory test cards.

The next chart shows the relative speed increase of the Probilt PB3500 over the PRVX2 based on the 536 pin card. It is easy to see the potential gains in productivity which are possible in a probe card test and repair area using the PB3500. User Test2 (Alignment, Planarity, Leakage, and Wire Check) is 4.3 times faster than the PRVX2!

The PB3500 provides vastly superior throughput while at the same time maintaining better repeatability and accuracy than the PRVX2. The time to change product types (motherboard change) was 1 minute for the PB3500 versus 7 minutes for the PRVX2. These times are without the recommended calibration on the PRVX2. The PB3500 does not require recalibration after a motherboard change. One PB3500 can easily do the work of two PRVX2 systems.

This makes PB3500 the obvious choice for the user who wants to maximize his return on investment!
